In 1651, A Girl With A Broom was painted. It's an oil on canvas with a 42.00 x 36.00 cm original size that's on display at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. I, too, grew up with "A Girl With A Broom" playing in my house! It was framed in an elegant gold frame with a border of orange velvet. The photograph below was shot on Christmas morning, 1966, of myself. The painting may be seen behind me. My mother is an artist, and she used to collect old master paintings. The painting was also on display at our next home. It stayed there until we moved in 1981, when I assume it was sold. I never liked the painting as a youngster since I felt it was dark and depressing, but I thought it was great that "The Bewitched House" had the same painting as us. I believe the old masters were popular in the 1960s (anyone know why? ), and I know of others who had them in their houses. With the passage of time, I've grown to enjoy it even more.
